Identifying the Need for Early Intervention in Children

How to know when your child needs Early Intervention Support

Are you facing challenges with your child’s development? We understand that it can be overwhelming and stressful. The first step in helping your child get off to a great start is recognizing that they need assistance to grow and thrive. Recognizing does not mean submitting to it that your child is different; instead, you enable them to be their best self. We want you to know that you’re not alone, and we’re here to help.

What is the White Glove Early Intervention Program?

Early intervention is a government-approved program for children with developmental disabilities or suspected developmental disabilities. We will facilitate your approval with the state early intervention program and set up the evaluation and services at no cost.

Signs that your child may benefit from early Intervention Services:

➡Is your child diagnosed with a medical condition like torticollis or cleft Palate?

Torticollis is a condition in which the head is tilted to one side, and the chin pointed to the other. This happens due to muscles tightening on one side of the neck, limiting the range of motion.

Cleft Palate is a congenital disability that occurs when the roof of the mouth does not fuse properly, leaving a gap. This can affect speech, hearing, and feeding.

➡Is your child exhibiting signs of Autism Syndrome Disorder?

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a developmental disorder that affects communication, social interaction, and behavior. Children with ASD may struggle to communicate, make eye contact, and understand social cues.

➡Was your child born premature?

A baby is considered premature if born before the 37th week of pregnancy. Premature babies may have developmental delays, breathing problems, and other health issues.

➡Is your child upset when exposed to bright lights/loud noises/hard or soft textures?

Children with sensory processing issues may have difficulty processing sensory information from their environment. This can make them sensitive to bright lights, loud noises, and certain textures.

➡Is your child not holding up their head during tummy time?

Children who do not hold up their heads during tummy time or miss milestones like crawling, walking, and babbling may have delayed motor development.

➡Showing signs of frustration when attempting to communicate?

Children who show frustration when attempting to communicate may struggle with speech, language, or social communication.

➡Is your child a very picky eater or pockets food in their cheek?

Picky eating or pocketing food in the cheek may indicate feeding issues that need to be addressed.

➡Is your child unable to play independently or with others?

Children unable to play independently or with others may struggle with social interaction and communication.

Enrolling in services early on is crucial for your child’s development.

Enrolling a child in early intervention services is essential to ensure their overall development and academic success. Research has shown that early intervention can significantly improve a child’s outcomes, as it helps to identify any developmental delays, disabilities, or disorders. Providing children with the necessary support and services to overcome these challenges early on makes them more likely to succeed in the long run.
